| Are You With Jesus Today? by: Pastor Bill “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.” Matthew 24:29 The Danish philosopher, Kierkegaard, tells a parable of a theater where a variety show is proceeding. Each show is more fantastic than the last, and is applauded by the audience. Suddenly the manager comes forward. He apologizes for the interruption, but the theater is on fire, and he begs his patrons to leave in an orderly fashion. The audience think this is the most amusing turn of the evening, and cheer thunderously. The manager again implores them to leave the burning building, and he is again applauded vigorously. At last he can do no more. The fire raced through the whole building and the fun-loving audience with it. “And so,” concluded Kierkegaard, “will our age, I sometimes think, go down in fiery destruction to the applause of a crowded house of cheering spectators.” Here, in Matthew 24 Jesus is giving us a play by play of the final 7 year period known as in scripture, THE GREAT TRIBULATION. He gives us the signs: deception, global war, famine, pestilence and earthquakes and Jesus teaches us that like the contractions of a woman going into labor… these signs would intensify and grow in frequency as THE RETURN OF THE KING gets closer and closer. If you are paying attention… the signs of the times are contracting like never before. Are you with Jesus today? When you stand before God one day, will you tell Him about your righteousness or will you have placed your FAITH & TRUST in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.
