2 Kings 6:16 “So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Do you realize there is a spiritual realm around you? Have you come to see God’s Word as the truth and accept what it says when it comes to the spiritual realm? Here in 2 Kings 6 Elisha, the prophet of God, in speaking to his assistant first prays for God to open his eyes, and then tells him that there are more soldiers on their side than Syrian soldiers surrounding them.
What about you? Have you accepted THE FACT that you are not alone? That as a child of God, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you? That as God’s son or daughter the angels of God are surrounding you? Do you still think of angels as the pudgy, harp playing babies depicted by Hollywood?
John Paton was a missionary in the New Hebrides Islands. One night hostile natives surrounded the mission station, intent on burning out the Patons and killing them. Paton and his wife prayed during that terror-filled night that God would deliver them. When daylight came they were amazed to see their attackers leave. A year later, the chief of the tribe was converted to Christ. Remembering what had happened, Paton asked the chief what had kept him from burning down the house and killing them. The chief replied in surprise, “Who were all those men with you there?” Paton knew no men were present–but the chief said he was afraid to attack because he had seen hundreds of big men in shining garments with drawn swords circling the mission station.
Elisha was right to his assistant and God’s Word is right when He says by His Spirit to you and I today, “those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
