What Are You Worried About?

Word Of Encouragement From Pastor Bill

By. Pastor Bill

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22

What are you worried about today? Is it your family, your marriage, your future or your finances? If you’re living on planet earth you’ve heard about this COVID-19 virus… and there is certainly an opportunity to be worried. What does God want from His people during this time?

Here in Psalm 55 God tells us to “cast our burdens upon the Lord,” and over and over again in scripture we hear the voice of our Heavenly Father saying in scripture “cast your burdens on Me.” “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14 “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5 “Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62:8 “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.

Are you catching what God in His Word is telling everyone?

Do not try to carry the burdens of life on your back but rather cast them on the Lord!

What does it look like to cast your burdens on the Lord? It means just as soon as the thought of anxiety, worry, or fear enters your mind, just that fast lift it up to the Lord in prayer. Do not let it simmer in the crock pot of your mind. Do not let the anxious juices flow into your being. As soon as it enters your mind just that quickly cast it at your resurrected Savior’s feet.

When you cast your cares on the Lord what does He give you?
He gives you His peace. He gives you His strength. He reminds you of who He is… all powerful and that His heart is for you and He will protect you. So, today, whatever fears may be calling your name, family fears, health fears, global pandemic fears… whatever fears may be knocking on your door… let Jesus answer the door and you stay in His peace.

By His Spirit,
Pastor Bill
