“Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God…” 1 John 5:5
I love what William Booth says about how Faith and works come together, “Faith and works should travel side by side, step answering to step, like the legs of men walking. First faith, and then works; and then faith again, and then works again — until they can scarcely distinguish which is the one and which is the other.”
John the apostle in chapter five verse five tells us that believing God’s promises to us, is vital to you and I experiencing real victory in our walk. One might say, ‘but Pastor, don’t we have to work for it and make it happen, ourselves.’ Well, Jesus tells us what our main work is in our walk with the Lord in John 6:29 “This is the work of God, that you believe in the One whom He has sent.” Jesus pointed toward believing in Him and His promises to you as a vital part of VICTORY AND DOING GOD’S WORK.
What do you need to trust in Jesus for today? Are you believing that God is who He is and that He is a God that REWARDS those who diligently seek Him?
