Prayer That Brings Blessing

By. Pastor Bill

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14

Prayer is a powerful thing in the life of the child of God. Somehow, in man’s religiosity, we’ve missed that prayer is as normal as breathing. Oh, how much does our Heavenly Father want us to do life recognizing he is with us wherever we are. On our way through the aisles at the grocery store… HE’S THERE. On our way to work sitting in traffic… HE’S THERE. Outdoors fishing… HE’S THERE. And John tells us here, God wants to hear from us.

Now, as we pray (that’s how we talk to God… He talks to us through His Word), God wants to answer our prayers, but there are some things that can hinder Him answering:

  • Psalm 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart,The Lord will not hear.”
  • 1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
  • Matthew 5:23-:24  Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
  • John 15:7  “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

Even today, the smartest and wisest thing you can do is make sure the RIVER OF GOD’S BLESSING to you is free of clutter and clogs that all that your Heavenly Father desires for you is able to flow in your direction and bless you exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask, think, or imagine. Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart…” In Jesus Name.
