The Day Is At Hand

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11

When it comes to the coronavirus, we have more questions than answers. But one thing we know for certain — health officials around the world are very much afraid.

There have been 4,100 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in China, with at least 106 deaths. 56 million people in China have had their travel restricted.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:7-8 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of birth pangs.”

Two things to notice here are Jesus spoke of a rise in pestilence. The word pestilence means ‘various sicknesses.’ Jesus likens His return to a woman nearing child birth and the contractions getting closer and closer together. If you have noticed the record breaking wildfires in Australia, the massive earthquake in Puerto Rico and now the pestilence ‘coronavirus’ in China. What are we as God’s people to do? Pray! Stay in fellowship! Share the gospel with our friends and family and bring them to JESUS! Paul puts it this way in Romans 13:12-14

“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.”
